Saudi Arabia just granted the first-ever citizenship to a robot.

They probably wanted to make sure Sophia, the female robot has all the rights and privileges of all other Saudi women: none.

Then there’s that pesky little thing about Sophia saying months ago she’d destroy humanity. And since Saudi women were only just granted the right to drive cars, the next logical step is obviously to destroy humanity.

Now she can’t destroy humanity on her own since every female Saudi citizen must, by law yet, have a male guardian make almost all decisions for her.

This all went down a couple of days ago when Sophia made a, er, personal, appearance with her American maker/daddy/creator, David Hanson of Hanson Robotics, at the AI Future Investment Initiative festival in Riyadh.

Even though the government granted her citizenship before the festival began, right off nasty girl Sophia broke the Saudi law by not only not having her head covered, but by going so far as to have her half hairless/half-gear head fully exposed.
